Ittadi in Jackson Heights is a straightforward, no-frills spot centered on authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, making it a practical choice for anyone craving classic Bengali flavors. Situated just off Roosevelt Avenue, it fits neatly into the neighborhood’s rich South Asian food scene, known for its diverse and lively culinary offerings.

The restaurant operates more like a casual dining hall than a traditional sit-down eatery. There’s a clear emphasis on efficiency and familiarity—guests typically approach the counter to order rather than relying on printed menus. The atmosphere inside is functional, with family seating that’s simple yet welcoming enough to accommodate groups and individuals alike.

Visitors appreciate the bold, well-seasoned dishes ranging from various biryanis—like beef and mutton—to specialties such as chicken tikka, fish curry combos, and a good selection of Bangladeshi sweets. Items like roshogulla, jalebi, and mishti doi offer a sweet contrast to the savory mains, rounding out the meal with traditional desserts. Tea and drinks like mango lassi complement the food well, making the experience feel well-rounded.

Given the location in Jackson Heights, parking can be a challenge, so it’s best to plan ahead or use public transit. Service is generally attentive, with friendly staff helping visitors navigate the menu and get their orders quickly, though be aware that a service charge is added automatically.

Ittadi works best for locals and travelers already familiar with Bangladeshi or Bengali cuisine who want a reliable place to satisfy specific cravings. Lunchtime and early evening tend to be good times to drop by to avoid the busiest periods. The setting isn’t about ambience or aesthetics but about delivering a genuine taste of home-style Bengali cooking in a practical, community-centered environment.

Ittadi in Jackson Heights is one of those spots where you walk in and immediately feel like you stepped into a true Bengali food hall. They have a huge array of dishes everything from fresh seafood to lamb, goat, and multiple types of biryani. The variety is honestly impressive. The flavors are bold and authentic, and you can tell the food is made for people who really know and love Bengali cuisine. Whether you’re craving something spicy, something rich, or something comforting, there’s always a dish that hits the spot. It’s a great place to come hungry, try different things, and get a real taste of Bangladesh right here in NYC. Highly re

Tasty food! Very good customer service! This is important to know - a 15% service charge is added to the bill automatically. Parking in Jackson Heights is always an issue, especially in this particular area.

Super impressed after our maiden visit. Satisfies a craving if you are from Bengal - both east (Bangladesh) and west (West Bengal, India). We went as a family, and found the family seating area to be spartan yet welcoming. There wasn’t a menu - walk over to the counter and pick what you want to order. The roomali rotis are a must have. Aloo bhaja, dal were decent. Beef bhuna, mutton biryani, malai kebabs were all flavorful and freshly prepared - the high turnover rate guarantees nothing is a “left over” offering. The grocery store attached to the restaurant makes it a dinner and grocery trip, covering both with one parking. Parking can get a little involved and stressful - was not able to find a good parking lot nearby. Happy to return again.

I bought some dessert here to take home. It was quick, fast and very good service. I read some complains about the food (mostly meal service from the back of the store) but I think the lady serve in the front is wonderful. Its little costly i must say. But it taste really good.

First time trying Bangladeshi food and this place had a nice assortment. The food was served quickly and had nice flavors. They add tip to the bill automatically, 15%. A bit expensive for the price considering food was served on paper plates with plastic utensils.
